The Experience

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater and explore our underwater world? To be able to get a closer look at the beautiful corals and marine life that surround us and fill our ocean planet? You can submerse yourself in a Open Water Diver course today either in your hometown or favorite beach destination. This is an introductory course to scuba diving and you’ll learn some basic skills and what it takes to explore our blue planet.

What You Will Learn

  • Gain knowledge of basic skills needed to dive under the the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor.
  • Learn about the scuba equipment you will be using underwater.

Start Your Course

There are several ways you can start your PADI Open Water Diver course!

PADI Standard Open Water
This three day course offers one full day in the classroom covering knowledge development and two days of confined water dives and open water dives. One the first day, you will be in class discussing and developing the knowledge of the fundamentals of scuba diving. This covers the knowledge reviews and exams. You will need to complete all five specialty knowledge reviews prior to the start of your course. The following two days will cover confined water dives in the morning and open water dives in the afternoon. This is a great option for those of you that prefer a classroom setting and have a flexible schedule.

PADI E-Learning Open Water
This is the online based version on the PADI Open Water Diver course. The E-Learning course gives you the option of logging into your course whenever convenient to your schedule. This is a great option for those of you with busy schedules. I recommend this option for anybody looking to get certified, that way you can spend more time doing what you want to do.. diving! You will need to complete all five specialty knowledge reviews prior to the start of your course. Once you have completed the E-Learning course, you’ll spend two days doing your confined water dives and open water dives to complete your certification. Log into the PADI E-Learning site, to start your e-learning course today!

PADI Open Water Touch
This is PADI’s newest option for taking your Open Water Diver course. This course is designed for those of you that have a tablet device. Once you download the course to your tablet, you’ll no longer need to be online to complete the course. This way, you can take the material with you anywhere you go! You will need to complete all five specialty knowledge reviews prior to the start of your course. Once you have completed the Touch course, you’ll spend two days doing your confined water dives and open water dives to complete your certification. Log into the PADI Touch site and begin your course today!

Requirements

In order to participate in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving course, you must be a minimum of 10 years old. You will also need to fill out a PADI Medical Statement. The PADI Medical Statement ensures that you are in good physical and mental health to scuba dive. You may need your family physician to sign off on your medical statement before the start of your course.
