This course is for those divers that are already certified and want to continue their education. Whether you’re looking into improving you dive skills or looking to take your adventure to the next level. This is a two day course that covers five distinct specialties. The two required specialties for the advanced certification are the deep specialty and navigation specialty. You then chose three specialties that interest you in particular.
What You Will Learn
- Gain knowledge of skills needed to dive under the the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor.
- Learn about the scuba equipment you will be using underwater.
- Five open water dives with your selected specialties including Deep and Navigation.
- Have fun exploring the underwater world and learning about marine life and coral species.
- Learn about how you can become a certified PADI Rescue Diver.

There are several ways you can start your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course!
PADI Standard Advanced Open Water
For this course, you will need to complete all five specialty knowledge reviews prior to the start of your course in the required Adventures in Diving manual.
PADI E-Learning Advanced Open Water
This course is the online based version on the Advanced Open Water course. This allows you to log into your course whenever convenient to your schedule. You will need to complete all five specialty knowledge reviews prior to the start of your course. Log into the PADI E-Learning site and start your course today!

In order to participate in a PADI Advanced Open Water course, you must be a minimum of 15 years old to participate in all adventures dives. 10-11 years old may only participate in certain selected adventure dives. 12-14 years old may participate in all adventure dives except sidemount adventure dive. You also must have your PADI Open Water Diver certification. You will also need to fill out a PADI Medical Statement. The PADI Medical Statement ensures that you are in good physical and mental health to scuba dive. You may need your family physician to sign off on your medical statement before the start of your course.
