Denver

If you are going to start anywhere, start in the Mile High City. Denver offers a lot for those who want the best of both the city and the mountains. Denver is centrally located to the surrounding cities of Fort Collins, Colorado Springs and Boulder. The city is also a short drive away from Colorado’s major ski resorts. Denver is known for it’s beautiful Rocky Mountains and year round outdoor activities. From seeing your favorite bands at Red Rocks Amphitheater to shopping 16th street, this city has something to offer any adventurous spirit. It’s a place I like to call home.

Local Cuisine

If you’re a foodie, you’ve come to the right place. There are tons of great local eateries and pubs to chose from located downtown and in the surrounding areas. South Broadway, Capital Hill, LoDo, Rhino, Uptown and the Highlands are the best areas where you’ll find a lot of the locally owned eateries. Depending on your tastes, you’ll find just about anything from street tacos to gyros. Food trucks are also starting to become popular throughout Denver. During the weekends, you’ll find a lot of them parked in the Rhino and Santa Fe Districts. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can make your way to the farmer’s markets to pick up locally grown fruits and vegetables for a great price.

Getting Around

You can get just about anywhere in Denver using public transportation. The best way to get around town is using the RTD bus lines or the light-rail. They go as far south to DTC (Denver Tech Center) as far North to Thornton and everywhere in between. Tickets are fairly cheap costing around $2.25 to $5.00 per ticket. If you’re not into public transportation, I would recommend car2go or Uber.
